Using Gift Cards with Shopify POS

The Go Gift Cards app lets you create gift cards that can be issued and redeemed directly in Shopify POS. This guide explains how to set it up and use it in-store.

1. Open the Go Gift Cards app.

2. Go to Settings > Gift Card Product.

3. Use the default product or link an existing Shopify gift card product.

4. Make sure the product is available on the Point of Sale sales channel in Shopify.

This ensures your gift card shows up in the POS app when adding products.

Once setup is complete, you can sell the gift card in-store like any product.

• Open Shopify POS.

• Add the gift card product to the cart.

• At checkout, enter the customer’s email (for digital delivery).

• Complete the sale.

The Go Gift Cards app will automatically generate a code and send the gift card to the customer via email.

To use pre-printed physical cards:

1. Enable manual code entry in the Go Gift Cards app settings.

2. At checkout, manually enter or scan the card code in Shopify POS.

3. Complete the sale — the gift card will be activated and tracked by the app.

4. Step 4: Redeem Gift Cards at POS

   • At POS checkout, select Gift Card as the payment method.

   • Scan the QR code or enter the gift card code.

   • The balance will apply to the order and sync with Shopify.

In the Go Gift Cards app > Gift Cards section, you can:

• View issued cards and balances

• Re-send or cancel cards

• Track usage history
